Versions and sharing
Saving a version, browsing version history, sharing a read-only link, project visibility, and importing an architecture.
Versions and sharing Nothing in Studio reaches the server until you save it. This page covers saving a version, unsaved changes, version history, sharing a read-only link, project visibility, and the three ways to bring an architecture into Studio you did not draw yourself. Save a version Once a project exists, Save on the toolbar opens "Save Architecture Version": Choose a Version Bump : Major " " "Breaking" , Minor "New features", the default , or " " Patch "Bug fixes" . The dialog previews the current and next version number. , < Write a Commit Message required, up to 500 characters . , < Click Save Version . , / A project's first version is v1.0.0 v0.0.0 if the canvas is empty . If you used Save as Project on a canvas that already had nodes, Studio saved that first version for you, with the commit message "Initial architecture", so your first Save with the default Minor bump gives v1.1.0. An invalid design still saves: "It will be saved, but you cannot generate code or train from it until they are fixed." See Why Generate and Train are locked /docs/studio/validation why-generate-and-train-are-locked . Your plan limits how many versions a project can hold and how large a model it can save; a save beyond either limit is refused. Delete an old version to make room for a new one. See Account /docs/getting-started/account for Billing & usage and your account's access. Unsaved changes The toolbar's title area reads "Unsaved changes" or "Saved ". Leaving Studio, or closing or refreshing the tab, with unsaved changes prompts you to confirm before you lose them. Version history Version History on the toolbar opens a paginated list of every saved version, each showing its number, a "Current" badge on the current one, its save date, and its commit message. Per version: - Load shows a "Viewing historical version vX" banner with a link Back to current . - Restore asks for confirmation "This will restore vX as a new current version. Your current work will be preserved as the previous version." and is disabled on the current version. - Delete asks for confirmation "Are you sure you want to permanently delete vX? This action cannot be undone." and is disabled on the current version and when it is the only version. - Compare lets you tick exactly two versions, then shows Added Nodes, Removed Nodes, Modified Nodes, Added Connections, and Removed Connections between them. Share a read-only link Once a project exists, Share architecture on the toolbar opens "Share architecture": "Create a frozen read-only link for this architecture. The full URL is shown only after creation." Give the link an optional Link label and select Create link ; the full URL is shown once, under Created link , with a Copy button. Existing links lists each link with its view count and a Revoke action. Project visibility A project's Visibility , Private or Public, is set when you create it and can be changed from Edit Project Details click the project title . A private project is visible only to you. A public one can be opened in Studio by any signed in Dagnam user, who cannot save it, generate its code or train it, but can select Duplicate to get an editable copy of their own. Visibility is separate from a Share link, which works regardless of the project's visibility. Private projects need access beyond the Free plan. See Account /docs/getting-started/account for plans in words, and Support to request access during the beta. Import a DAG file From the dashboard, Upload a DAG imports a graph dag.json file from the DAG JSON view in Generate code /docs/studio/generate-code the-generated-code-window either as a new project Title, Framework, Visibility, Tags or as a new version of an existing project you choose. Import a shared architecture Opening someone's Share link shows the architecture read only, and needs no account. Select Import to My Projects to copy it into your own account as a new Private project titled "<name> imported ", which opens in Studio for you to edit and train. If you are not signed in, you are asked to sign in first. Open a Hub model in Studio Browse Hub on the toolbar opens the Model Hub /docs/hub/overview ; importing a published model there opens it as a project in Studio.
